Dr Fides Izdori graduated with an MSc in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania, and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Edinburgh (UoE), UK. She is a problem solver who is not afraid to push boundaries and loves to explore new territories and think outside the box. Her research interests are in solid waste, water and wastewater, resource recovery from wastes, and promotion of cleaner production approaches. Her previous research experience includes assessing the impact of climate change on water resources in Tanzania, specifically for hydropower generation in Mtera dam, water availability in Lake Rukwa, and lake-water levels and livelihood in Lake Victoria. She also works as a consultant for different institutions in Tanzania. She has been involved as a water quality expert in the preparation of the Lake Victoria Basin Water Resources Management and Development Plan (IWRMDP) and the Rufiji Basin Water Quality Monitoring Programme. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and yoga and aspires to be a gardener.
