Dr Heather Legodi is a qualified dietitian, registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa. She is currently the Head of Department and Senior Lecturer within the Department of Human Nutrition at University of Pretoria.
She qualified with a PhD in Paediatric Nutrition from the Department of Paediatrics at Wits University and has published her PhD findings in local and international peer-reviewed journals. Her research focused on the dietary and lifestyle practices of rural and urban adolescents in South Africa. Dr Legodi obtained her Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama A&M, with her thesis focusing on the nutritional composition of Shiitake mushrooms.
Dr Legodi featured as one of the speakers at the 2016 International Society of Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity conference. She is an alumnus of the African Nutrition Leadership Programme and is passionate about people and understanding what factors influence eating behaviour at different stages of life.
