Dr Innocensia John is an economist with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Business at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania. She previously worked with Michigan State University under the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP), where she built networks and collaborated with agroecologists focusing on agro-economic systems in Malawi and Tanzania. Innocensia is also an associate researcher in the Environment for Development (EfD) network.
Her research interests includes agricultural economics and environmental and natural resources economics. Her experience to date has focused on geographical indication and product marketing, linkages between household food production and food security, forestry, and climate variability. She is particularly interested in smallholder farmers and their environment within the African food system. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, traveling, and being close to nature.
