Dr Phyllis Mumia Machio is a lecturer at the School of Economics, University of Nairobi. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nairobi. Phyllis is a passionate researcher who has won several research grants from organisations such as the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP). She was a 2019 Structural Transformation of African Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STAARS) fellow. Her research work mainly focuses on the areas of maternal and child health, women’s empowerment, labor market issues, and gender in agriculture.
