Prof. Alice Pell, Professor of Animal Nutrition, directed Cornell’s International Institute for Food, Agriculture, and Development, and was Vice Provost for International Relations. She was a STIAS fellow at Stellenbosch and Extraordinary Professor at both the University of the Free State and the University of the Western Cape. She is a visiting professor at the University of Pretoria affiliated with Future Africa. She has degrees from Harvard in Architecture and in International Education and a Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition (Vermont). She works in interdisciplinary education and research with Zamorano University as chair of the trustee’s academic committee, with the University of Pretoria and as a Fellow of Uganda’s National Academy.
