Anne Tallontire is Professor of Sustainability and Business in the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds and has a background in economics, politics, and development studies. Much of her research focuses on the way in which the private sector, including through corporate social responsibility, affects sustainable development – particularly in the food sector. She has examined supply chain relationships, agro-food systems, and sustainability standards such as fair trade. Her concern is to understand who benefits and how, the articulation of producer and worker voices and, ultimately, how more sustainable and equitable outcomes can be generated.
