Prof. Lise Korsten is Co-Director of the South African Department of Science and Innovation (DSI)/National Research Foundation (NRF) Centre of Excellence Food Security. She is responsible for the food safety programme within the Centre of Excellence and actively interacts with other researchers at various institutes and disciplines. She is an editor for the academic journal, Food Security, which is published by Springer and CABI.
Prof. Korsten is the Chair of the International Society for Plant Pathology Task Force on Global Food Security. She has supervised over 50 MSc students, 20 PhD students, and 11 postdoctoral fellows. She has published 149 peer-reviewed papers, 46 book chapters/ conference proceedings, and 151 industry papers. Prof. Korsten has a Google scholar h-index of 42, i10 index of 119, and had 11,983 citations in 2021.
